Supporting brain injury survivors, their families & carers, in Salford, Trafford & North Manchester.
We are a charity set up to give help and support to local people affected by brain injury.
Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were.
We’re a charitable organisation operating in Salford, Trafford and North Manchester who provide information, support and social activities for people suffering from acquired brain injuries. We also support carers, family and friends. Perhaps most importantly, we offer the chance to share experiences knowing that the group members understand some of the problems and difficulties that acquired brain injury brings.
Here at Headway Salford, Trafford and North Manchester we are part of a network of over 120 local Groups and Branches of Headway – The Brain Injury Association. Headway supports people living with brain injuries throughout the UK and offers a wide range of services, including rehabilitation programmes, carer support, social re-integration, community outreach and respite care. The services available will vary, depending on local needs and resources.
Greater Manchester offers a range of different Headway groups across all the regions that make up the area. If you live outside Salford, Trafford and North Manchester and would like to find a group closer where you live.
Headway aims to promote an understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide information, support and services to survivors, their families and carers. In addition, Headway will campaign to reduce the incidence of brain injury.
We are a local charity group, affiliated with Headway UK, supporting people in the Salford, Trafford and North Manchester area.
We provide a fun and welcoming day-centre service, at which members can meet with others who are also living with brain injuries.
At the day-centre we offer a range of fun interactive sessions both indoor (crafts, cooking, table tennis and pool) and outdoor (accessible cycling sessions, bowling and day trips out).
